Team of Round 4 - 6 Nations

Back 3 - Leigh Halfpenny, Stuart Hogg & Jack Nowell:

Slightly cheating by including Hogg as a winger, but all three players deserve their spot with fantastic performances. Halfpenny and his famous boot helped Wales to a massive victory against the Irish, whilst Stuart Hogg kept Wales and Ireland in the 6 Nations title race by making some sensational try-saving tackles. Jack Nowell looked exciting, and although he fumbled the ball a few times he always looked dangerous, and he could be very influential against France at the weekend. Nakaitaci was unlucky to miss out after a good debut, but these three were pretty awesome this weekend.

Centres - Jonathan Davies & Jamie Roberts:

The Welsh centre partnership earned their spots in this side after eclipsing Payne and Henshaw at the weekend, looking dangerous in attack and solid in defence. Davies's return to form was a joy to watch, and they will both look to put Italy to the sword on Saturday.

Half Backs - Dan Biggar & Ben Youngs:

Ben Youngs somewhat undeservedly won man of the match from Courtney Lawes against Scotland, but it was a good game for the scrum half who will be searching for consistency in order to keep his place in the side for the world cup. Biggar played a huge game opposite the master Jonny Sexton, and his utility under the high ball was once again prevalent. Selected ahead of try-scorer George Ford, Biggar was the best 10 of the weekend and one of the best throughout the tournament.

Front Row - Gethin Jenkins, Scott Baldwin & Nicolas Mas

He only played 40 minutes, but Gethin Jenkins put in a much improved performance, good in the rucks, earning a crucial turnover and stronger in the scrum, which has earned him his place ahead of Joe Marler. Baldwin made 20 tackles, a phenomenal work rate from the hooker as he cruises into the team of the week. Nicolas Mas was solid as always, helping the French to dismantle the Italians.

Second Row - Luke Charteris & Courtney Lawes

31 tackles. That is a staggering number from Luke Charteris. He was the player of the week in my opinion giving everything he had to secure the victory for Wales and knock Jake Ball and Bradley Davies in to the backs of peoples' minds. Courtney Lawes made a great return to international rugby, showing what England missed against Ireland, he is a hugely influential player whose athleticism and work rate make his team mates' lives so much easier.

Back Row - Thierry Dusautoir, Sam Warburton & Billy Vunipola

Dusautoir led his side to an unimpressive 29 point victory over the Italians, but was as always the stand out player for the French, working hard to the end. Sam Warburton on the other hand led his side to a sensationally impressive 7 point victory, and earned man of the match (even though it should have gone to Charteris) with over 20 tackles and great work over the ball, Sam always made himself a nuisance and cemented his place as a national treasure. Although here at Four Balls Blog we are big Ben Morgan fans, Billy Vunipola has been rampaging recently, and once again left players crumpled in a heap beneath him. The big man needs to keep this up if he wants to secure the number 8 shirt for England, but it doesn't look like many are going to be able to stop him.

8 of the 15 players selected this week are Welsh, and that just goes to show how impressive they were against Ireland, who, along with Italy, have a grand total of 0 players in this weeks team of the round. Both of them will need to hit back hard next week, and it will be a fascinating battle to see.
