2015/2016 Preview - Watford

The Hornets, with players such as Deeney, Ighalo and Vydra, have some firepower, and have added well to their squad since the end of the Championship season. Capoue, Holebas, Gomes and Britos are all very good signings, and now the squad has the depth to compete well in the Premier League. However, it looks as if they will fall just short, lacking the quality needed to stay up. The strikers won't be afforded the same freedom in the Premier League as they had last season, which will take a lot away from Watford's game. A closely fought battle with Leicester and Bournemouth will probably see Watford come out bottom of those 3, and taking 19th place.

Best Transfer Business:

Etienne Capoue may have been a bit of a flop at Spurs, but there is no doubting that there is a lot of talent there, and with regular game time he could be crucial in Watford's efforts this season, but Britos has to be the signing of the season for Watford. It is vitally important to have a strong defence in the Premier League, and the former Napoli defender will be very important in front of that Watford goal.

Worst Transfer Business:

Some will say that after Gomes's performance at Spurs that signing him is just asking to be relegated, due to his ability to make mistakes, but he was a quality goalkeeper in the Netherlands and this could be the fresh start he needs in the Premier League, so I don't think he is a bad signing, however it goes wrong in the first few games for him then it could be disastrous for Watford.
